Congrats!
I’m a big fan of yours… and I’ve been reading your blog for quite some time. I can really relate to where you are right now because I started out as a judicial intern in a federal court (with the same responsibilities as a law clerk) while I was still in law school. When the first ruling that I drafted was published into the record, I was so excited. I still read that opinion from time to time to remind me what a blessing that experience was for me.
I spent a year as an intern — and I must say that that experience was the most valuable aspect of my law school career. At the end of my internship, my judge offered me a 1 year clerkship in his chambers. This said, be sure to make the most of your time at the court. You may be surprised in the end.
I too took the bar in July (and failed). However, I’m not fretting about it, my job doesn’t depend on it, and I continue to remain positive about the future… while learning more every day.
I wish you the very best on your bar results (I grew up in California and have very fond memories of my childhood there). I know how important it is for you to move on to the next chapter of your life. However, please don’t forget what is most important — live in the present. Make the most of your opportunities today so that tomorrow has no choice but to be spectacular!
